Harry Potter stories and films have a huge following in many countries

Adults and children are always amazed by the ample international vogue of the Harry Potter novels. The Harry Potter stories were written by the British writer J.K. Rowling. She was given birth to on 31 July 1965. Her name is Joanne Rowling. But she writes under the pseudonym J.K. Rowling because primarily her publisher considered it was a good move not to show the fact that she is a woman. The publishing house thought it could have a negative effect on the sales figures if everybody immediately sees that the writer is female. So, instead of using her first name she used two initials. As she has no middle name she picked Kathleen as basis for the K. in her alias. Kathleen is the name of her grandma.

The first Harry Potter novel – Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone – was released in 1997 in the UK. Very remarkable is the aspect that only thousand pieces of the first story were produced at that time. The original title of the novel was not Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, but Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. But when the story was publicized to the United States market place in 1998, it was published as Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone.

After that J.K. Rowling invented several more Harry Potter stories. Now the Harry Potter series consists of a total of seven novels. These are:

  • Novel 1: Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
  • Novel 2: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
  • Novel 3: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Novel 4: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  • Novel 5: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  • Novel 6: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  • Novel 7: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The Harry Potter novels have been translated into over sixty-five languages and have been published in a lot of countries. Besides the huge success in the US and Great Britain, Harry Potter is also quite popular in European countries. The Harry Potter stories (German book store: astore.amazon.de/harry-potter-buchshop-21) have been published in Germany under these titles:

  • Buch 1: Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen
  • Buch 2: Harry Potter und die Kammer des Schreckens
  • Buch 3: Harry Potter und der Gefangene von Askaban
  • Buch 4: Harry Potter und der Feuerkelch
  • Buch 5: Harry Potter und der Orden des Phoenix
  • Buch 6: Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz
  • Buch 7: Harry Potter und die Heiligtuemer des Todes

I must admit that I did not have the opportunity to read all the stories. But there are readers who know them all, which is very remarkable and contributes to the huge success.
